A While

Well, it's been a while since I posted.  And I've sure kept busy.  I was in Lancaster last weekend.  It was a pretty, small, old town.  I enjoyed seeing all of the old buildings and walking around.  I got a few pictures.  But I am sure glad to be done with all of the traveling.  No more traveling for a long time.  I want to readjust to the home lifestyle.

Jared ended up buying me a new laptop while I was on my business trip.  I have converted to the 'evil' mac system.  It has certainly taken a lot of adjusting, but I'm slowly figuring it out.  And I'm starting to like it.

I had Friday off to recover from all of the hours I've put into work.  It was a much needed resting day...  My stress load is beginning to become more manageable.  As to whether or not I love my job, that has yet to be determined.  Only time will tell.

We planted our vegetable garden on Friday.  It took us about three hours because we had a lot of weeding to do.  We've planted tomatoes, onions, green onions, corn, red and green bell peppers, jalapeños, fresno peppers, lima beans, peas, a sugar plant, strawberries, grapes, and raspberries.  And ever since then, my wrist has been killing me.  My knees are also deeply bruised.  Hopefully, I can say it was worth it once in two months.

We went to Milwaukee yesterday.  Jared's cousin goes to school there.  That was a lot of fun.  We went to a one-of-a-kind nightclub called the Safe House.  They require a password to get in and it's like a spy/secret agency-themed restaurant.  It was definitely interesting...

And now I'm home reading my book.  I haven't read a whole lot this week.  I've been taking a break.  But now that Jared goes to Salt Lake in two days, I'll quickly pick it back up.  I don't know what I'm going to do with myself for the next week and a half.  It'll be just me and Gizmo.  I hope we survive...

Pictures from Lancaster:

My 60 oz rum and juice.  Let me tell you, I was gone after this drink.  Best thing is, I got to keep the glass.  It was awesome...

Thoughts

So, I've come to the conclusion that conservative people tend to have many kids, and they start young.  Meanwhile, liberal people wait until forever to get married and never really consider having kids.  Granted, I'm speaking in a very broad sense...

Lancaster has a lot of similarities to Utah.  It's a nice town.  And there are lots more women having babies here than there are in Madison...

Love

You know what I love coming home to?  An anxious dog awaiting my arrival.  And a husband who conceals his excitement a lot better than the dog.  I especially love when I come home from a trip and both my boys immediately attempt to cuddle with me (I must be the only one lacking the cuddle genes in this family).

Birds

The birds are trying to create a nest on our patio.  However it keeps falling apart every time the wind blows.  But the bird has a lot of determination to get his nest built.  Somehow, I don't think it'll ever stick...

I'm home for the weekend and the beginning of next week.  My trip in Reno was good.  However, the flight home wasn't so much fun.  When my plane ticket lists a seat, I expect to have the whole seat, not half to a fourth of the seat.  People who take up more than one seat should have to pay for more than one seat.  Needless to say, the ride was very uncomfortable.

Day Off

A day off at last!!  Well, technically, I worked for an hour.  But that's better than ten...  I've been working a lot lately.  And it's really starting to get to me.  I want me-time.  I want time where I'm not stressed.  Hopefully, things will begin to level off, and I'll get the hang of things at work.  Although I am still having some moments where I wonder if I will ever be good enough at my job.  It will always be a learning process, and I can only do my best.  But enough work talk.

My dog has taken to sleeping right next to the printer.  No one knows why, but he likes laying there.  I've spent my day doing laundry and semi-cleaning my house.  The last month has been exhausting, and life is only starting to return to normal.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day.  It's also Jared's late sister's birthday.  Yes, it will be hard.  It's hard being away from family, but it can sometimes be nice because you have a buffer between you and the reality of your family.

There's really nothing new in my life other than it's going back to normal.  I have two more trips in the next two weeks (Reno, NV and Lancaster, PA), and then I'm hoping to stay away from travel for a while.  Granted, Jared leaves for Salt Lake City at the end of this month.  So, he'll have a chance to visit family which is good.

Life is just really busy right now.  So, I'll enjoy the slow moments when I see them...

Hollywood Beach

I've been in Hollywood Beach for the weekend.  Too bad I spent it working...  Also, too bad I'm not completely stable and sane enough to enjoy it.  All I can think about right now is getting back to my husband and trying to find my routine, boring life again.  Too bad I'm stuck traveling for the next couple of weeks.

Figure if I can't enjoy it here, maybe you'll enjoy pictures of Hollywood Beach, FL (It's the furthest south I've ever been).

I walked on this boardwalk (I found this on the web)

Yes, I touched the ocean with my feet.  You know how miserable it was to walk back to the hotel in socks and shoes with sand in between?  Miserable...

Me and my hair...
